What an extraordinary bass! The Jackson X Series Concert™ Bass CBXNT DX V is everything you want in a 5-string P/J bass configuration.

We all know that Jackson’s guitars and basses are synonymous with rock and metal artists, with everyone from Mick Thomson from Slipknot, David Ellefson, Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden, and many more.

I took this 5-string bass for the “test run,” as I call it, but I took it to the “other side” and played it on a classic country gig. Powerful and smooth is what comes to mind, as the CBXNT DX V cuts through the mix. The bass is extremely comfortable to play and I went through doing a blend of P/J pickups, then the pickups one by one. The bass is very easy to play and I really like the 34” scale on 5-string basses. My two cents on this model… It will fit every genre and give you multiple tone combinations with the P/J pickup configuration.

How did the other guys in the band like it? Let me just say that on every gig now they ask if I am bringing the white bass… they loved it that much!

The Jackson X Series Concert™ Bass CBXNT DX V is a 5-string neck through with a P/J pickup configuration. The body is Poplar, with a Maple neck that has a Laurel 24 fret fingerboard complete with jumbo frets and a 12” to 16” compound radius. Laurel fingerboards tend to produce balanced tones across the entire frequency range. The bridge is the Jackson® Bass Bacher V Hardtail, the tuners are Jackson® Sealed Die-Cast and both have a chrome finish. The Jackson® Bass Bacher V Hardtail bridge greatly enhance attack and sustain without changing the tone. The bridge pickup is a Jackson® J-Style Pickup and the neck pickup is the Jackson® P-Style Pickup. Controls are volume, blend and active three-band EQ which is bass, middle, and treble. The act iEQ is powered by a 9-volt batter. The control knobs are Skirted Black Plastic with Indicator and the pickguard is 1-ply black. This bass is available in white, black, and fireburst.
