Interview With Bassist Binky Griptite

Binky Griptite is a diamond in the rough.

Binky Griptite is a versatile artist that splits his mind beautifully between virtuoso and music fanatic.  He is known almost exclusively as a guitar player (Amy Winehouse, Sharon Jones, Saun & Starr), but his work as a bass player in the Afrobeat group Antibalas shows his dexterity as a great groove player.

Binky showed up to the first episode taping of The Groove Within touting a gorgeous fretless Jazz bass that had been frankensteined together using a P-bass neck signed by the late Arthur Russell, leaving us to wonder if the bass belonged to Arthur or a die-hard fan.
