Hello bass players and fans of bass playing! This month we are going to study the Major Pentatonic Scale for 6-string bass.

“The pentatonic scale consists of 5 notes.”

The major pentatonic scale contains the Root, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and the 6th note the Major Scale, also known as the Ionian Mode.

The major pentatonic scale dates back thousands of years and is still one of the most used today. It has a bright sound that lends itself well to country music, blues, rock, fusion, jazz, etc.
