PRESS ANNOUNCEMENT

GuitarPedalCourse.com, founded by renowned pedal designer Brian Wampler, has announced the release of its Intermediate DIY Guitar Pedal Course, a follow-up to the best-selling beginner course that has taught thousands of musicians how to design and breadboard overdrive, distortion, and fuzz pedals from scratch.

Designed for guitarists and builders with a foundational understanding of breadboarding and schematics, this new course expands on every major area of analog circuit design. Students will learn how to build multi-stage gain structures, shape EQ between stages, and create more expressive, responsive tones using advanced techniques drawn from real-world pedal designs.

“Pedal builders are smart. They’re just underserved,” said Wampler. “They’ve spent hours digging through forums, watching YouTube videos, reading blogs – but they’re still left with the same question: how do you actually design a circuit that sounds amazing and responds like something you’d buy from a boutique builder? That’s what this course finally answers.”

The Intermediate DIY Guitar Pedal Course covers:

  • Inverting and non-inverting op-amp gain stages
  • Mu-amp (SRPP) transistor gain stages and how to bias them properly
  • D.C. feedback pair blocks used in circuits like the Fuzz Face and Tone Bender
  • Active and passive EQ design, including Baxandall and op-amp or transistor-based gyrators
  • Complete schematic-to-breadboard walkthroughs
  • Multi-stage builds combining gain, EQ, and clipping for full tonal control

All projects are taught on a breadboard, making it easy for students to tweak, explore, and fully understand how each part of the circuit contributes to the overall sound and feel.

The original beginner course — A Complete Beginner’s Guide: How to Design Your Own Guitar Pedal Circuits — remains a popular entry point for musicians looking to learn the basics of component behavior, signal flow, and schematic reading. Both courses are available individually or together in a discounted bundle.

“Whether you’re a guitarist who’s just started modding pedals or someone ready to create your own signature sound, this course gives you the tools and the confidence to do it,” added Wampler. “You’ll stop copying – and start creating.”
