BASS LINES: The Mixolydian b2 Mode

Hello bass players and fans of bass playing! This month we are going to study the Mixolydian b2 Mode.

The Mixolydian b2 scale is made of tonic (1) – minor second (b2) – major third (3) – perfect fourth (4) – perfect fifth (5) – major sixth (6) and minor sevent (b7).

Mixolydian Mode Formula:

1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 – b7

C Mixolydian Mode:

C – D – E – F – G – A – Bb

Mixolydian b2 Mode:

1 – b2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 – b7

C Mixolydian b2 Mode:

C – Db – E – F – G – A – Bb
