Tansu Tumer Announces New Album, ROOTS. It features 8 tracks that place the electric bass center stage.

The album was recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered entirely by Tansu in his home studio, located in a remote village in Western Turkey. It marks his first bass-focused instrumental record since his debut album, “Afraid of What?”, released 14 years ago.

Tansu Tumer is a versatile composer, producer, and bassist whose artistry covers a wide spectrum — from modern classical and contemporary jazz to evocative solo instrumentals — where technical mastery meets emotional depth. A self-taught musician, he shaped his sound through years of exploration and collaboration, including a formative three-year journey performing with renowned artists and bands in the USA before returning home. In 2019, after years spent behind office desks, he left city life behind for a quiet coastal village — choosing to devote himself fully to artistic creation. The decision marked the beginning of a prolific new chapter, one that led to his acclaimed 2023 album Ad Astra Per Aspera. In 2025, Tansu unveiled two full-length works that capture the breadth of his musical world: Renessence, his most ambitious and boundary-pushing project to date, and Roots, a return to where it all began — placing the electric bass at the heart of his sound once more, 14 years after his debut.”
