Multifaceted artist and acclaimed bass player Jon von Boehm proudly presents new invigorating jazz-fusion record, Reflections. The new album follows the sonically sprawling and emotionally charged single “Not Today”, which was released in January.

Out via Space Donkey RecordsReflections is the fourth studio album from the effervescently talented Jon von Boehm. Featuring an impeccable roster of fellow musicians von Boehm has encountered due to his experience as a session player, the new record demonstrates what it means to organically build community through music.

Although a solid 90% of the album is lyricless, with various instruments carrying the emotional weight set forth by von Boehm, some of the most impactful moments are where liminal vocals shine through. On one album highlight, “Lucky Me”Aly Cutter’s sultry vocals balance out funky vocoder-esque synths that invoke elements of some of Daft Punk’s earlier works.

Written over a two and a half year span, Reflections captures growth and introspection, seamlessly blending groove, emotion, and texture into a rich jazz-rock-ambient journey. Equal parts technical and heartfelt, the new record reflects Jon von Boehm’s evolution as an artist.

von Boehm’s new record features a compact roster of musicians including Marcus FinnieCory PonderKyle EdmonstonMichael Green, and Brian Czach on drums, Jake PattersonCole Clark, and John Gallo on guitars, Josh Karas and Walt Scott on keys, Aly Cutter on vocals, and last but certainly not least Chris West and Troy Atkins on sax.
