Bass Lines: Famous Bass Intros Part II – Come Together

Jaime D. Vazquez - Lathon Bass Wear Exclusive Artist

Hello bass players and fans of bass playing! This month we will continue with the series of articles about the famous bass intros.

When we talk about The Beatles, we can say that they’re still the greatest and most influential band in popular music. The Lennon–McCartney team was an outstanding combination. Here’s a great example!

Check out McCartney’s heavy bass riff for the intro of “Come Together,” the opening track on the album Abbey Road(1969). The song reached the top of the charts. The Rolling Stone Magazine ranked “Come Together” as one of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time” and is the #9 on their list of the Beatles’ 100 Greatest Songs.

Enjoy McCartney’s bass playing!

It looks like there is some mistake. To my ears Sir Paul did slide from G note on A string.
