Ibanez Mourns the Passing of Mr. Paul Gray
We, at Ibanez Guitars, are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of metal’s strongest songwriters and musicians, Mr. Paul Gray.
As bassist of the Grammy-winning band Slipknot, and an Ibanez Signature Artist, Paul’s unique bass style and aggressive riffs helped bring metal music to the forefront, and Slipknot to the top of the music world. With Slipknot, Paul released 4 studio albums, 1 live album, and 3 DVDs, the majority reaching Gold or Platinum status. In addition to all of his contributions in the studio and on stage, those of us who knew Paul will remember him for his kind heart and warm nature.
Paul Gray was a long time Ibanez endorser and we are deeply honored to have partnered with him over the years—including the opportunity to work with him on his signature bass. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends, and fans. He will be greatly missed by us all.
