Bass Transcription – Silly Love Songs by Paul McCartney and Wings…

“Silly Love Songs” by Paul McCartney and Wings is an example of an awesome bass line with an amazing amount of subtle variation for such a seemingly simple and repetitive progression.  The bass track is bold and clear, and appears to be played on what sounds to me like a Rickenbacker 4001 bass.  The contrast of long and short notes (adhere to the dots over the notes), as well as the use of an eighth note feel with occasional single quarter note or sixteenth note rhythmic variations thrown in, make the whole tune an adventure.  I dedicate this transcription to my wife Susan Needleman.  We were married this summer.
