By age fourteen Ric was inspired by the sound of the bass and since then has been dedicated to playing the instrument, composing and producing music. At the age of 16 the University of Miami ended up offering a four-year scholarship to their world-renowned “Studio Music and Jazz” program which inspired Ric to finish High School two years early to attend the University. In 1989 he moved to Los Angeles and in a move contrary to the norm, Ric relocated to New York City in 2003. He immediately started playing with “The Chick Corea Electrik Band”, Billy Cobham Spectrum Band, Bill Evans Soulgrass, Dave Weckl Band and others. In 2008, his debut band’s CD called “Hemispheres” was nominated for a Grammy as “Best Contemporary Jazz Album” and he was nominated twice for “best Instrumental Jazz Solo” on other recordings. His credits are impeccable having played, recorded, produced or composed with: Chick Corea, Billy Cobham, Dave Weckl, Gary Husband, Dean Brown, Steve Smith, Vinnie Colaiuta, Mitchel Forman, Nachito Herrera’s Cuban Trio, Raul Pineda, Chad Smith’s Bombastic Meatbats, Stanley Clarke, Brett Garsed, Phil Turcio, Blood Sweat and Tears, Special EFX, Guthrie Govan, Mike Miller, Scott Henderson, George Whitty, Joel Hoekstra, Tom Coster, Marion Meadows, Andy Summers, Planet X, Eddie Jobson’s UK, Frank Gambale, Curved Air’s Sonja Kristina, Adrian Belew, Johnny Depp, Sir Tom Jones, Bo Bice, Stevie Wonder, Japanese Mega Star – Misia, Jennifer Paige, Sophie B Hawkins, Euge Groove, Bill Evans and others. Ric has also recorded many tracks for the “Guitar Hero” games and some his latest studio work has included tracks for the CBS Hit TV series “Without a Trace”. He is currently a member of the multi-platinum Grammy winner act “Blood Sweat and Tears”, “The Lao Tizer Band”, “Bo Bice and the Foundation”, “Billy Cobham’s Spectrum 40”, “Tri-Fecta” as well as others.

“I first heard about Trickfish through some mutual friends of mine and Richard Ruse, Founder of Trickfish. I’m a gear junkie and a tone freak and when I learned a little about the company and the folks involved I had to give it a shot – it’s my sound and it’s hugely important to the music I play.” states Fierabracci. “Richard stopped by the house with a bunch of gear and we did some side by side analysis. It became obvious to me that these people were shooting at a different target than their competitors. I even went as far as to record the noise floors in comparison to my favorite studio gear and the Trickfish head simply excelled. I look forward to working with these guys and being part of a group that is serious about pushing boundaries in pursuit of tone and performance”.

“Ric brings not only his virtuosity to the table but his interest and knowledge of technology and its relationship to the support of great music. That context is our basic philosophy here at Trickfish and we’re ecstatic that we’ve found a guy like Ric who speaks the language. He’ll challenge us to get better and that’s a core value of the company – striving for perfection.” says Ruse. “I hope we have a long, fruitful relationship with Ric.”
