Trickfish Amplification Welcomes Michael Petrino

Trickfish Amplification welcomes touring bassist and multi-instrumentalist Michael Petrino to the Trickfish Family of Artists

Michael Petrino is an up and coming professional bassist with roots deep in the Buffalo, New York music scene. After graduating with an Associate Degree in

Business from Bryant & Stratton College in 2008, Michael enrolled at Villa Maria College where he focused on not only music itself, but the business of the music industry. Studying bass under the late Jim Kurzdorfer, original bassist of Spyro Gyra, Michael gained an experienced perspective which gave him the tools and knowledge needed to mature into a self-determined bassist. Michael graduated in 2014 with Dean’s List honors and a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Industry.

Inspired by the likes of Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorious and James Jamerson, Michael’s perspective has blended these world-class styles into his own unique, distinct sound and tone. Like all great players, Michael has studied the past in his goal to help shape the future and his soulful playing, impeccable taste and discipline are the foundation for a long career. His playing on “The Sonic Farm Sessions” by Nick Kody and his touring with singer/songwriter and guitarist, JL Fulks showcase his promising talents.

“When I first heard the Trickfish gear I was blown away. I needed a rig that would allow me to express the sound I heard in my head and yet be professional, roadworthy and flexible. Hands down, these are the proper tools for my craft.” says Petrino.

“When Michael contacted us and shared his vision we knew immediately he was a perfect fit for Trickfish. His enthusiasm, temperament, skill and commitment mirrored the values we hold so close… welcome to the family our new baby brother!” states Trickfish Founder, Richard Ruse.
