Natural Minor Scale Bass Lesson

on

Hello Basschicks and Bassdudes!

This is another lesson from my book No-Nonsense Guide to Music Theory, Scales and More! The natural minor scale is one of the most commonly used scales in music. This one is very important to learn in order to learn other scales such as the pentatonic, blues and many others. The minor scale is a simple scale in terms of progression and position between intervals much like the major scale.

The major and minor scales differ in their whole and half step progressions. Positions 2 to 3 and 6 to 7 in the minor scale are half step intervals making them different from the major scale where the half steps are between the 3 to 4 and 7 to 8 intervals.

In the next lesson, I will be talking about the harmonic and melodic minor scales.
