Jordan Steinberg presents the Spector NS Ethos 4-string bass via Skype.

The New Spector NS Ethos Series is available in both 4 and 5-string models, in two distinct finishes:

Interstellar Gloss

And Super Faded Back Gloss

Spector NS Ethos 5-string bass in Super Faded Black Gloss

Highlighted in this video and sound sample is the 4-string in Interstellar Gloss.

Spector’s NS Ethos range celebrates the brand’s iconic legacy while simultaneously incorporating fresh features that matter to the modern player.

The iconic curved body is carved from solid Maple and is adorned with a highly figured Poplar Burl top. The 3-piece Maple neck features a 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard, adorned with a custom Spector logo inlay on the 12th fret.

When it comes to electronics, the NS Ethos employs Aguilar’s premium pickups & OBP-2 active pre-amp for a wide range of usable and musical tones.

These eye-catching, high gloss finishes are inspired by our USA Series instruments and lend an extra level of sophistication to these instruments.

Review: CrystalBright Rombo Picks

CrystalBright Rombo Picks

PR Sample

Playing bass with a pick is still a touchy subject in our community. I believe you should be able to use whatever you need to get your sound. Even though I mostly play with my fingers, I like to check out innovative new picks that might have something new to offer, sonically speaking.

Judith and Carlos from Rombo recently contacted me about a new material called CrystalBright that they have been researching for the last 12 months and offered to send some prototype picks. After trying them out, I put together this video with my findings.
