New Gear: Ampeg Venture Series Bass Amplifier Heads and Cabs
Venture Series Bass Amplifier Heads and Cabs Designed for Modern Gigging Bassists…
Ampeg introduced the VentureĀ® Series of bass amplifier heads and speaker cabinets. Designed to deliver the modern style and capabilities sought by contemporary bassists, the Venture Series builds upon a legacy of innovation that stretches back to the dawn of the electric bass. The Venture Series comprises the V3, V7, and V12 heads and the VB-112, VB-115, VB-210, VB-212, and VB-410 cabs.
āVenture Series amps and cabs represent the next step in the evolution of the Ampeg brand,ā said Dino Monoxelos, Ampeg Product Marketing Manager. āWe designed them to give gigging bassists playing all styles of music the capabilities they need to dial in both modern and classic sounds. We also know how important it is to them that their gear be rugged enough to perform reliably gig after gig, while at the same time being as light and portable as possible. Most importantly, of course, Ampeg amps have to deliver tone that lives up to our legacy.ā
With their intuitive controls, Venture Series amplifiers offer an extensive array of tone-shaping tools that include 3-band EQ with sweepable Mids, Ultra Hi and 3-way Ultra Lo switches, and a Super Grit Technology⢠(SGTā¢) Overdrive circuit with SVTĀ® and B15 voicings. The V7 and V12 amplifiers also include a variable compressor. An effects loop, an XLR direct output, an Aux input, and a Phones output enhance connectivity. All circuitry is analog except for the solid-state Class D amplifiers. Players can add an optional AFS2 footswitch for remote control of the SGT overdrive and Mute, and an optional heavy-duty padded Venture carrying bag.
Venture Series cabinets are available in the most popular configurations, enabling bassists to choose the right cabāor combination of cabsāfor any gig. The stylish cabinets are covered in carbon fiber-style Tolex and built to handle the rigors of the road, while at the same being some of the lightest bass enclosures currently available. They are loaded with lightweight custom-voiced LavoceĀ® neodymium woofers and high-frequency drivers. Optional PortaflexĀ®-style grille assemblies provide players with an aesthetic choice, and optional heavy-duty padded covers are also available.
Venture series heads and cabs are available now with the exception of the V7 (available spring 2024).

Gear News: Darkglass Expands Anagram Platform with Anagram Marketplace
Darkglass® Electronics announces the launch of the Anagram Marketplace, a significant expansion of its Anagram⢠bass platform, introducing a growing ecosystem of third-party plugins and tools. Designed to extend the capabilities of Anagram beyond its original feature set, the Anagram Marketplace enables users to access, share, and integrate new sounds and processing tools while opening the platform to trusted developers, engineers, producers, and sound designers. By bridging the gap between studio-based workflows and real-world performance environments, the Anagram Marketplace positions Anagram as an evolving platform shaped by its user community.
Think of it like an App Store. Building on Anagramās core processing architecture, including its hexacore processor and 32-bit/48kHz audio engine, the Anagram Marketplace expands the systemās functional scope by enabling support for external plugins that were previously limited to desktop environments. At the time of launch, the Anagram Marketplace has already partnered with some established plug-in developers like Nembrini Audio, Bogren Digital, and DoGood Sounds.
The Anagram Marketplace complements Anagramās existing blocks-based architecture, where users can construct signal chains in series or parallel configurations. With the addition of partner-developed plugins and processing blocks, users gain access to an expanding library of tools that can be incorporated into their existing signal paths. This approach extends the platformās flexibility over time, allowing workflows and signal chains to evolve as new tools and ideas are introduced.
From a user experience perspective, the Anagram Marketplace integrates into the broader Anagram ecosystem, where its high-resolution touch display and control modes – Preset, Scene, and Stomp -continue to provide direct access to signal chains and parameter control. As new plugins and blocks become available, users can incorporate them into familiar control structures without disrupting established workflows, supporting a streamlined approach to exploration and implementation.
The introduction of the Anagram Marketplace also reinforces Anagramās integration with the wider Darkglass ecosystem. Alongside access to partner-created plugins, Darkglass will continue to deliver free software updates, including new blocks, features, and ongoing performance improvements. Together, these updates and the Anagram Marketplace ecosystem create a platform that continuously expands, ensuring users have access to new tools and capabilities without requiring added hardware.
In practical use, the Anagram Marketplace enables musicians, producers, and content creators to extend their setups with new processing tools while keeping a consistent workflow across studio, rehearsal, and live environments. By enabling access to a broader range of plugins and community-driven development, the platform supports faster iteration, expanded creative options, and a more connected approach to sound design and performance.
The Anagram Marketplace is available now to Anagram users. For more information, visitĀ www.darkglass.com.

Gear News: Fender Unveils Highly Anticipated Vintera III Series
Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) today announced the launch of the Vintera III Series, the next evolution of its acclaimed vintage-inspired lineup. Reimagined from the ground up, the highly anticipated range delivers meticulously crafted instruments that capture the defining sounds, aesthetics and feel of the early, mid and late ā50s, ā60s and ā70s.
Designed for players seeking true vintage character, the Vintera III series introduces an all-new philosophy: a targeted focus on iconic moments in Fender history. This āgreatest hitsā approach highlights some of the most celebrated specifications from the companyās golden eras, giving musicians access to some of the most revered tones ever produced.
This refined direction marks a significant evolution from previous Vintera collections – while earlier generations drew broadly from generations of production, the Vintera III Series narrows its focus to distinct, era-defining designs, allowing Fender to achieve a new level of historical accuracy and authenticity. Every instrument in the range reflects painstaking attention to detail – from period-correct aesthetics and colours, to carefully recreated neck construction and pickups – faithfully capturing the look, feel and sonic character of legendary vintage Fender models.
āWith the Vintera III Series, we set out to capture the defining moments that shaped Fenderās legacy,ā said Max Gutnik, Chief Product Officer at Fender. āRather than broadly representing entire decades, we focused on the most iconic specifications that players continue to seek out today. By zeroing in on these historic designs – from era-correct pickups and neck profiles to period-accurate aesthetics – weāre giving todayās musicians an authentic connection to the instruments that helped define modern music.ā
To ensure era-accurate tone, Fenderās engineers revisited the companyās original archives, developing vintage-style pickups matched to each period. Players will experience the warm, rounded character of Alnico II and the punch and clarity of Alnico V designs.
The Vintera III Series also faithfully recreates Fenderās historic neck profiles, from the substantial V and D shapes of the mid and late ā50s to the comfortable medium C profiles of the early ā60s and the slimmer C shapes that defined the late ā60s and early ā70s. Each model is completed with era-specific headstocks, decals, fingerboard inlays, stamps and finishes, delivering an instrument that feels as authentic as it sounds.
With Vintera III, Fender brings the spirit of its most influential eras to a new generation of players – offering a lineup that celebrates the instruments, tones and innovations that helped shape modern music.
