Bernhard’s 2nd release is a nice musical evolutionary step from his first release, “Those Days”. Having already establishing himself as a pertinent voice in the bass community the Austrian bassist (Nashville residing) has enlisted the help of some of the best voices in music to bring this new music to fruition. Featuring Derico Watson, Chester Thompson, Jeff Coffin and a host of others, the playing is serious!

The compositions are, in a word, musical-fusion (not just shredding, but harmonically interesting, containing breath and breadth and full of beautiful melodic statements). Bernhard’s playing is stellar and his tone is lush, full, modern and very clean. The production is top-notch, as well.

Musically speaking, there is a nice balance struck here between ear-catching prodigious performance and music that is well composed and leaves room to breath. Full of memorable melodies and world class performances, this release should prove to leave a indelible mark with fusion lovers and bass lovers alike!
