Our good friend Raul Amador brought this amazing CD to me recently. For that, I’m so grateful because.. it is KILLING!

C’mon, Tiempo Libre is a band you should check out anyway, but bringing Afro-Cuban sensibilities, rhythms and soul to the beautiful melodies and counter-parts of Bach?? I knew this had to be good. (All members of the band were classically trained in Cuba, btw). I can’t express to you how cool some of the moments are on here. I love many of Bach’s pieces, but these may honestly be my new favorite versions. It’s just truly beautiful and astoundingly well conceived. HIGHLY recommended. You have to hear it to believe it. I only hope to see them perform this music someday.
