Review: Tobias Toby Standard-IV Electric Bass By Epiphone

The Tobias Toby Standard-IV Electric 4-String is an outstanding and extremely comfortable bass to play, which has been a result of over ten years of innovation and design, and that’s not all!

The Tobias Toby Bass is at an extremely affordable price point and will appeal to players of all levels and this bass will fit any music genre.  While it has passive electronics, tones are rich and full with the combination of the tonewoods and electronics.

The Tobias Toby Bass body is constructed of radiata, which is a harder wood than alder and poplar, making it a more durable body.

The bolt-on 34” scale neck is a one-piece hard maple, finished off with a 24 fret rosewood fingerboard with side-dot markers. The electronics are passive and are made up of the Tobias stacked humbucker pickups, the TBR for the neck position, and the TBT for the bridge position. Controls are volume, pickup blend, bass cut, and treble cut.

The tuners are premium die-cast machine heads with a turning ratio of 17:1 and the bridge is flush mount and low profile. All of the hardware is black and the bass is available in two colors, alpine white and ebony.
