Pyramid released their new album “Rage”.
It is the 4th album for this progressive metal super-project, in which Lance Sawyer, Bassist and Song Writer, is the main figure and collaborates with selected virtuoso musicians of the metal scene such as Tim Ripper Owens (ex-Judas Priest, ex-IcedEarth, among others), Andry Lagiou (The Harps), Harry. Conklin “The Tyrant” (Jag Panzer) on vocals, Mike Abdow (Fates Warning) on guitars and Chris Quirarte (Redemption) on drums, Adam Bentley (Arch Echo) on guitars and mixing engineer, Joey Izzo (Arch Echo) the master on keyboards and Perrine Missemer on the amazing violin.
Thus, after Gold Tooth (2019), Amnesty (2020) and Validity (2021), Pyramid returns to the label with this album, which is the 4th album in three years, which is released worldwide on physical (2-cd) and digital release, on November 4, 2022, via Sleaszy Rider and contains 8 songs on the first CD and 1 song on the second CD.
A feast of timbre comes to the listener’s ears as soon as he presses play, with the musicians simply enchanting in what they do. We all pretty much know what people like the ones on this record can do and there was no doubt we were going to have an amazing result. And it makes sense when you have such big names of the progressive, heavy and power metal music scene. And that’s what we like… The diversity that exists in an album like this!
It is possible his point! The key point we are saying and the truth is that apart from progressive metal, in which, believe me, Pyramid “makes priests” and offer a sonic and “technically perfect orgasm”, they are here to take you on a journey to worlds where you will feel the power metal music. You will feel the dynamic characteristics of heavy, while you will find yourself enjoying some symphonic touches both in the vocals, as well as in the violin or the keys. It is truly extraordinary the overall result that reaches our ears under the name of the album “Rage” through this very successful collaboration of fine virtuosos with awesome vocals and lyrical content!
And of course, when an album is this good and made with such seriousness, it cannot be left behind in the lyrical part. And here, Pyramid offers us a quite interesting lyrical work, which moves both on human/emotional issues such as stress, anger and sadness, but also on social/political ones, thus stimulating the listener in the right places, taking him out of the inactivity he might be in. I quite liked their way of writing on this track as well and they deserve congratulations because whatever they tackled lyrically, they accomplished it with great success!
Overall, Pyramid left me with very positive impressions on this new album entitled “Rage”. A supergroup that comes to your ears angry musical energy and seduces you in its path, making you a big fan of them! Do not miss it!!!
All the tracks are nice, but ” Greed”, ” Empty Roads”, “Rage”, ” Beast”, ” Magic”, ” Tyranny” and “Dungeon’s and Dragons” are especially worth listening to.
