Abelita Mateus, Vivenda, featuring Itaiguara Brandão on bass.
Since I am on a Brazilian music roll, this CD is another sweet listen. Abelita sings and plays piano on a nice blend of her own compositions and standards. Her vocal quality and skilled piano playing and arrangements are a treat. Itaiguara lays down a flawless bass line on this project and adds in some very cool flourishes in all the right places. Superb bass/guitar conversation on “Esquinas”!
